EGOvoruhk Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 (edited) This is on a fresh install. It takes maybe 10 minutes to load past "Getting ready to run Windows for the first time" screenWould there be some options in the BIOS I may want to turn off, that would be confusing Windows 98? I've already turned off my SATA controllers, because I don't even use them. Everything else is pretty much defaultThanks in advance for your helpOh, and here are my system specs:Motherboard: DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 SLI-DR Expert (BIOS Date: 2006/04/06)CPU: AMD Opteron 175Fan: AC Freezer 64 ProMemory: 1GB G.SKILL PC3200 (F1-3200PHU2-2GBZX)Drives: Seagate 750GB IDE (10GB Fat32 Partition for 98), Pioneer DVR-106Video Card: EVGA 256MB 8500 GTPower Supply: Antec EarthWatts 500w Power SupplyCase: Antec Sonata II Edited March 20, 2008 by EGOvoruhk
mara- Posted March 20, 2008 Posted March 20, 2008 I'm not expert in Win98 and I used it very short. But Win98 has limit with 2GB of RAM. Also, there is some bug which cause problems when you have more then 512 RAM. So that might be your problem. I think that solution exist, but you'll have to find it yourself on this forum.Cheers
EGOvoruhk Posted March 20, 2008 Author Posted March 20, 2008 My mistake. I copied those specs from another forum's signature. I have removed all but 1GB of RAMI know an install with 1GB of RAM will work fine, as I've done it, and it's running fine
