copying to usb invalid MS-dos function

Hey when I try to copy files to a USB key I always seem to get an error that says "invalid ms-dos function" however if I go to a command prompt and do the copy it'll work fine. I have no idea what is causing this. Anyone else run into this ?? I search this site and google and there appears to be lots of people getting the error but no one seems to know what the solution or even cause is.

Running RTM, and is the USB device FAT-format?

odd, the symptoms match however its copying to a NTFS formatted USB key. I will try and install SP1 I guess as it says its relased in a future sp. I will try it and post here the result

installed Vista Sp1, still get the error. Might try that patch on a test machine just incase it breaks other things lol.

I'm actually kinda shocked. That MS article actually fixes it the issue. SP1 for vista doesn't though. So anyone who having the same issue give the patch a shot.
