Vista laptop hibernate by itself after resuming from hibernate IF i didn't press key or move cursor ?

i'd set "Hibernate after" to "never" in the advanced power option, but no way.

Thank you for support...

please anyone try this and tell me if this happens in all vista machines or mine only:

- resume from hibernate

- login screen or desktop appears (according to your settings)

- don't press any key or move mouse and wait for about 10 minutes..

- system go automatically into hibernate.

Thank you for your help.

  • 8 months later...

same thing happens with me.

Win XP SP3.

I don't know why it happens either. However for me it happens within 2 minutes.

I think it might have to do with "Hibernate after X minutes" setting, but like you said even if you have it in never it still does it.

I found another link after searching google that implies maybe it has to do with the source of power to your laptop (as the different power schemes have different hibernation settings).

I can live with the problem , I just ensure that i start some program after resuming from hibernation. hehe :P

but maybe you have to disable hibernation from all power profiles to make it work....

who knows... maybe it's a bug in the hardware.

I have an HP dv9xxx series.
