I am trying to run a batch file off a winxp install cd. What is the wildcard for choosing that cd (install source), It may be D: or E: depending on the hardware available.

There isn't one you have to find the cd and create one yourself.

There are numerous ways to do it anything from a batch script to applications that create permanent variables.
