jrtool Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Hi, I am wondering if it's possible to make an install cd or dvd from 2 HP Recovery DVD's? By this I mean take out all the crap that HP installs by default on a clean install. I know it won't be able to be installed on multiple machines it would just be nice to not have to spend time every install cleaning it up? Thanks for any help on this.

Thanks, because I do not post at all or often does not mean I am newly registered for an answer! I joined this forum in Jan 05, and have enjoyed learning much from this forum since. The search function I am familiar with and used but I didn't find the info I wanted with vista restore dvd's, that is why I posted my question. I am glad you posted, you were more helpful than the search function! Thanks
Ponch Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) OK, what's on your DVDs ? Any "i386" folder ? Or as we suspect few huge image files with ".gho" or ".pqi" extension ?You will probably have to extract that image and the i386 that's in it. I guess there are more simple ways to make what you want to end up with if you have a regular Vista disc and all drivers for your machine. I'm familiar with it with XP, don't know of the few files you need to keep your Vista "preactivated" are the same as with XP.+This should be moved to the vLite forum. jrtool Posted February 23, 2008 Author Posted February 23, 2008 (edited) Sorry Ponch, Apparently I did not search the vLite forum. This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for replying to my post. jrtoolhttp://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t100566.html Edited February 23, 2008 by jrtool
