Internet Connection

I noticed in my network connections tongiht there is a internet connection now????? For some reason now i cant hit the internet when i plug my router (settings have not changed in the router) when i reboot my nic connects but so does the "internet connection" could anyone please fill me in what this is? i have never seen this before?

PS i can hit the internet if i just plug my modem in do wireless routers just go bad?

I don't really get it. Is it an automatic connection that you never choosed to have ?

An explanation on your configuration and what was going on before is welcome.
