puntoMX Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 New coolers from Arctic CoolingArctic Cooling has released two new video card coolers for the ATI HD2900 and nVidia 8800 series. They go under the name Accelero Xtreme 2900 and Accelero Xtreme 8800. Three 80mm-fans and five heatpipes have to keep these GPUs at better temperature levels.Arctic Cooling succeeded, as they say, to keep there temperatures down by 20oC over the stock ATI/nVidia coolers. A big plus over the stock coolers is also the lower sound production; the HD2900XT went from 2.2 to 0.7 Sone and the 8800Ultra from 1.1 also to 0.7 Sone. The new coolers use three 80mm fans and five headpipes penetrate 107 fins. The fans blades turn at a speed of 900 to 2000rpm, depending on the temperatures of the video card. Not only the GPU get’s cooled, also the memory. The Accelero Xtreme measures 256*88*21mm and weights 440 grams. Arctic Cooling says it can handle 240W of heat, so there is some head room for more hungry cards.I hope you enjoy looking at it as I do .
