install hangs at Expanding Files

First my system:

Q6600, EVGA 780i, 2x2gb OCZ ram, 8800gts 512mb, Adaptec 1220SA RAIDw/ 2x500gb seagates.

I have lates motherboard and raid card bios, latest raid card drivers, and ran MEMTest overnight on mem.

I start to install vista, and i can see teh drives, and create some partitions...So i create a 100gb one for the OS.

here is what i have noticed:

1 - formatting 100gb in the vista installer takes about 10 sec. is this right?

2 - Copying files section of install takes about 3 sec.

3 - always hangs at "expanding files - 0%" except once it went to 60% without any changes of settings / hardware.

4 - Tried my retail disc, heavily tweaked vlite one, and mild tweaked vlite, all the same.

5 - I cant pre-integrate drivers as this is 64bit and i dont have a 64bit comp to create disc on.

1. sometimes it takes a while to get past 0%, times can vary

2. "tried my retail disk"... doesn't sound like a vLite problem. i think you can integrate 64bit drivers with 32bit host its just updates you cant.

Your problem lies with drivers, intergrate newer ones from the manufacturers website. Also test your iso in something like VMWare to be sure.
