Hey guys, i would appreciate if someone could help me with the asrock k8nf4g-sata2 modbios 1.6

I have tried the link and several forums. its a dead end. I know its an ancient mobo, however i would really appreciate if someone could help in this matter.

thanks mate, however i have found it. I used different search engines and found it on some foreign forum. russian or something. It hasnt helped much in overclocking amd athlon 3200+ venice E. It wont stay stable for more than 2.4ghz so i might be trying the vcore mod.

The maker is from Poland, close enough ;).

Any way, did you try to play with the extra Memory timings in the BIOS? It should give you an OC of 30-40% without any pain (If your CPU can handle it indeed).

cpu is amd athlon 3200+ venice, 512kb L2, E stepping. It is said to be highly overclockable, i havnt played around with the extra memory timings. The bugger just wont go past 2.4 stable. Temperatures are 30C-35C normal and 40C under full load so temperature is not an issue i suppose. I think i need to do the vcore mod, it increases the voltage by 0.10 making it 1.55. I am trying to liquidate anything out of the mobo/cpu till 2009. Hence, i need to push it to its max potential. Lets see how it goes.

The mod bios doesnt make any difference for some reason :/

I did the vcore mod and now getting 1.6 volts, the processor goes to 2.65ghz stable. 2.7-2.75 is okay for windows but if i am playing a game or run photoshop it crashes. Ive tried the nb link x2 x3. still doesnt work, also tried setting the ram to 133. The system crashes no matter what i do. I just cant push more than 240 fsb.

any solutions?? cos i am trying 2.8ghz.

Well, the mod BIOS only let you set more Memory timings, but if you already played with it then I think your RAM can’t do more then it’s doing now. I had those boards stable up to 300-310MHz bus. I would seriously check the timings again and start to put them less aggressive.

i played around with it but i didnt seem to notice much difference or overclock higher. 300 fsb, well i can only dream about that, cos mine is not even budging after 240, one thing or the other fails.

what would you suggest for the timings cos i set them back to auto when i couldnt get anything out of them. Ill be using 64info rather than the bios. should i increase the latency and preamble (currently 6ns and 5.0ns). What about the memory divider, its set to 14 :/
