jca2007 Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 (edited) Hello, guys I am looking for a DVD Decoder so I can watch dvd movies on my windows media player 10, on Windows XP. When I try to play a dvd movie, I get a blue screen, not a BSOD thank god. Anyways, it says the DVD Decoder for Windows Media Center or Windows Media Player is broken. I have an on board nVidia GeForce 7300 LE 128 that came with my Dell XPS 410 computer. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance and have a great day:).This is the message I get on Windows Media Player 10:Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.I have updated my video card and everything else. But I still can not play DVD Movies.I just updated to Windows Media Player 11 and am still having this issue. Edited February 12, 2008 by jca2007

DL. Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Just a few things to try:Read this thread and you may find some helpful pointers.Make sure you have all updates for WMP 10 by using Windows Update, select everything that seems relevant.Download and install this or this.Download and install VLC.
Grake Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 If you have an XPS 410, you probably also received Power DVD software. Install that for the needed codecs.
