Woagie
Hi.I made a new version of nLited XP a couple of days ago, and since then I am having problems reaching one of the websites I visit. It is giving me error HTTP 406. I have had confirmation from another forum member that everything is OK, so all I can think is it could be caused by something I've removed. Any ideas? I have made many versions of nLite XP over the years and this is the first time I have encountered any problems. Here is a list of the stuff I removed:Customized by nLite v1.4.1 - www.nliteos.comComponents removed:Accessibility OptionsBriefcaseCharmapClipBook ViewerDefragmenterGamesInternet GamesNT BackupPaintPinballScreensaversAsynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM)Display AdaptersDisplay Adapters (old)Ethernet (LAN)IBM PS/2 TrackPointIBM ThinkpadISDNLogitech WingManMicrosoft SideWinderModemsMultiFunctionalPortable AudioPrintersScannersSerial Pen TabletSony Jog DialSound ControllersTape drivesToshiba DVD decoder cardWireless Ethernet (WLAN)ALI 1535 SMBus Host ControllerALI IDE ControllerATM SupportBatteryBluetooth SupportBrother DevicesCMD PCI IDE ControllerCPU IntelCPU Transmeta CrusoeFirewire (1394) SupportFirewire Network supportGravis Digital GamePortIEEE 1284.4 devices (Dot4)InfraRedIntel PCI IDE ControllerIomega Zip driveMicrosoft Color Management (ICM)Modem SupportMulti-port serial adaptersMulti-Processor SupportPCMCIAPrinter SupportRamdiskSecure Digital host controllerSmart CardsSony Memory StickTeletext codecToshiba PCI IDE ControllerUSB Audio supportUSB EthernetUSB Video Capture devicesVIA PCI IDE ControllerVideo CaptureWindows CE USB Host*Keyboard layouts (no need to list)*ActiveX for streaming videoAOL ART Image Format SupportDirectX diagnostic toolImages and BackgroundsIntel Indeo codecsMedia CenterMIDI audio supportMouse CursorsMovie MakerMusic SamplesOld CDPlayer and Sound RecorderSpeech SupportTablet PCWindows Media PlayerWindows Media Player 6.4Windows SoundsClient for Netware NetworksCommunication toolsComtrol Test Terminal ProgramConnection ManagerFrontPage ExtensionsH323 MSPInternet Connection WizardInternet Information Services (IIS)IP ConferencingMAC BridgeMap Network Drives/Network Places WizardMSMail and MAPIMSN ExplorerNetmeetingNetShell Cmd-ToolNetwork Monitor Driver and ToolsNetwork Setup WizardNWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS ProtocolOutlook ExpressPeer-to-PeerShare Creation WizardSynchronization ManagerTAPI Application SupportTCP/IP Version 6Vector Graphics Rendering (VML)Web FoldersWindows Messenger.NET FrameworkAdministrative TemplatesAdministrator VB scriptsBlaster/Nachi removal toolCertificate ManagementColor SchemesCommand-line toolsDesktop Cleanup WizardDisk and Profile QuotaDisk CleanupDocument TemplatesDR WatsonExtensible Storage Engine (Esent97)Extra FontsFAT to NTFS converterFile and Settings WizardFile System Filter ManagerHelp and SupportIExpress WizardInput Method EditorJet Database EngineLogon NotificationsManual Install and UpgradeMDACMS AgentMS XML 2.0Private Character EditorRemote Installation Services (RIS)Search AssistantSecurity CenterService Pack MessagesSymbolic Debugger (NTSD)TourUser account picturesVisual Basic 5 runtimeVisual Basic 6 runtimeWeb ViewZip FoldersAlerterApplication Layer GatewayAutomatic UpdatesBackground Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)Beep DriverCOM+Distributed Link Tracking ClientDistributed Transaction Coordinator (DTC)DNS ClientError ReportingFax ServiceHTTP SSLIMAPI CD-Burning COM ServiceIndexing ServiceIPSEC Policy AgentMessage Queuing (MSMQ)MessengerNetwork DDEPerformance Logs and AlertsQoS RSVPQuality of Service (QoS)Remote RegistryRemovable StorageRoute Listening ServiceSecondary LogonService Advertising ProtocolSimple TCP/IP ServicesSNMPSystem Event Notification (SENS)System Restore ServiceTask SchedulerTCP/IP NetBIOS HelperTelnetTerminal ServicesText Services FrameworkUninterruptible Power SupplyUniversal Plug and Play Device HostVolume Shadow CopyWebClientWindows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)Windows TimeDOCSSUPPORTVALUEADDI used SP2 and RyanVM's Update Pack 2.2.1b3 on a clean XP, btw. nuhi
Can you post that link?Did you install some Firewall, tried to disable it?Tried other browsers? Some say try disabling javascript temporary to see if it helps.Basically it shouldn't be your issue, they all point to the server issuehttp://urbangiraffe.com/2005/08/20/mysterious-406-error/
Woagie
Hi Nuhi EDIT: I solved the problem. On Sygate's Options tab, there's a check box for "Allow Stealth Mode Browsing". This had become checked without me realizing it. I unchecked it and now it's fine. Sorry to bother you all with my problems! All is good again. Thanks for the reply, Nuhi.
