foolios Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Somehow the number lock key is automatically enabled on boot up of windows. It didn't do this before. I must have enabled it with a key stroke but have no idea how to disable it from auto-enabling itself. I have to disable it with the function key + F11 key to login to windows, then I have to do it again once windows is up. I find it annoying, anyone with a similar laptop happen to know how to stop it from doing this? I checked the bios but there isn't an option there. Thanks in advance.
puntoMX Posted February 11, 2008 Posted February 11, 2008 Well, its Windows related as most laptop BIOSes don’t have so much settings in general. Just do the following:Run REGEDIT and go to HKEY_USERS\.Default\Control Panel\Keyboard -> InitialKeyboardIndicators, it’s set to 1, set it to 0.Use any of the following values, depending on the combination of keys you want turned on or off:0 - Turns off Num Lock, Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock1 - Turns on Caps Lock2 - Turns on Num Lock3 - Turns on Caps Lock and Num Lock4 - Turns on Scroll Lock5 - Turns on Caps Lock and Scroll Lock6 - Turns on Num Lock and Scroll Lock7 - Turns on Caps Lock, Num Lock, and Scroll LockExit the Registry. Restart and the new setting will take effect.
