ND22 Posted February 7, 2008 Posted February 7, 2008 (edited) Hello everyone this is my first post here! I had installed for the first time Win Xp x64 and it seems I don't have the option to put the pc in hibernation anymore. In win xp pro x32 I had but here no. I have installed every device in the system correctly and everything works fine as seen in this screenshot: Edited February 7, 2008 by ND22
Arup Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 If you have a system with over 4GB, MS takes out hibernation, I have the same issue on my 8GB quad core system running XP64.
suryad Posted February 12, 2008 Posted February 12, 2008 Same with my system. i have 4 GB and I guess it is a limitation in the system. I guess it does not like allocating 4 gb of hard drive space just for hibernation purposes.....
ND22 Posted February 12, 2008 Author Posted February 12, 2008 Thanks for the tip, I found the cause but I can't solve the problem! Guess will have to do with standby!
Arup Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 The other issue I notice is that with larger hibernation file, the MFT gets fragmented frequently. I was also reading about this somewhere, can't recall the link.
