Flipping the monitors video

hi im toying with a project of mine and i want to flip the screen on a monitor to vertical, using windows xp pro, is this possible with an ati card ? or only intel based cards..,,

if it cant be done with a ati,, any suggestions on what type of card i could use to get this desired effect ?

Most graphics cards are capable of this if you have the latest drivers installed. Look around in the video driver's settings. I know where they are in the Intel ones, and I've seen it before in Nvidia ones. I don't have much experience with ATI cards, but I imagine they'd have it too.

Windows can't do it on its own though; you need to use the driver utility.

Keep in mind if these are LCD displays: cleartype doesn't always work in positions other than the normal upright position.
