dubsdj
Hi there, I know this is not a new problem but is there any solution yet with the Vista Plug and Play not recognizing new devices? I am tired of having to keep pointing the path to C:\Windows\System32 every time I want to install a USB Stick or another device..Thanks
gosh
Plug and play is logged by setupapi.log located in your inf folder. Delete the file, plug in your device, then post the log file. You'll also want to look at event viewer. When you plug in a device vista copies the inf to the inf folder and the drivers to the DriverStore.-gosh
slipk487
i was having problems with Vista x64 to. my external hdd worked fine as it was connected through the setup and never unhooked it but after i did vista wouldn't see it right and install it. i had both my flash drive and ipod show up in drive management as a raw drive but could do anything to them. right now i just have Vista x86 installed and didnt come across any problems. im going to wait till the 14th when i get payed to get a nic card that has 64bit drivers.
