January 20, 200818 yr I've setup an unattended install of XP SP2 using Green Machine's method here: http://www.msfn.org/board/GreenMachine-s-Complete-SVCPACKINF-t109040.html ://http://www.msfn.org/board/GreenMach...F-t109040.html ://http://www.msfn.org/board/GreenMach...F-t109040.html ://http://www.msfn.org/board/GreenMach...F-t109040.html .However, the icon for IE7 does not show on the desktop and I can't seem to find out how to do it via the Registry or other. I tried importing these registry keys[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]"{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000"{450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}"=dword:00000000"{208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000"{871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D}"=dword:00000000With no luck. I do get the My Documents, My Computer, and My Network Places. Is this the wrong name for IE7? Thanks in advance.
January 20, 200818 yr Try using nlite. Just go to reg tweaks > desktop > Internet explorer icon. That worked for me with IE7.
January 20, 200818 yr Author I need to accomplish this without using any third party apps to meet the security requirements of my company. Any other idea?
