tnlnsl Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Six months ago I set up Microsoft Money 2006 on a new laptop. This week the laptop crashed and I lost the money program with six years of data. The good news I kept the MNY Back ups on a Memory Stick. The bad news I can't remember the password to restore it, I know I should have written it down. I welcome any suggestions how I can either recover the password or bypass it.
tnlnsl Posted December 31, 2007 Author Posted December 31, 2007 Thank you Fat64, Haven't quite recovered the password yet, but I am getting excellent help from their TechsRoger
newsposter Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 (edited) nirsoft.net has loads of free (!!!) password recovery tools. Edited December 31, 2007 by newsposter
DigeratiPrime Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 Nirsoft does not have a password tool for Microsoft Money. If you go with Passware you should not need the full kit only the "Money Key" programhttp://www.lostpassword.com/money.htmAnother popular password recovery suite is made by Elcomsofthttp://www.elcomsoft.com/aopr.htmlBTW these programs work using "brute force" so it could take a long time to recover.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brute-force_search
