:realmad: I cant allow other computers to access my shared or public folders on a home network. I can access other computers shared files but they

cant access mine. It says Owner-pc (thats the name of the laptop) is not accessible. My vista desktop can also be accessed by my ps3 but not the laptop.

Im running home premium on a compaq presario v6000 if that helps and heres a link to another thread with pretty much the same problem.

Windows firewall, yes same workgroup,

Location Type Private

Network Discovery on

FileSharing on

Public Sharing Folder on ; anyone w/ access can open change or create

Printer Sharing off

Password protected shring off

Media Sharing on

Thanks for a response I really need some help. If there is a way to completely reset network back to default Ill take it and then fix what i need to back. Even tried Calling Microsoft but they wanted to charge me for help :blink: If you need more in fo let me know

1 disable all firewalls on everything

2 disable ipv6 in the properties of the network connection

3 ping each system vis versa

4 wait til sp1 maybe something good might come of it do some research on the web google.

Double check the permissions on the folders/drives you're trying to share. I had a file sharing issue recently where I couldn't access a shared drive. Turned out the permissions were all wrong.
