Reg06 Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 First of all, I'm just kind of sure this post belongs in this thread. I'm prepared to accept it getting moved by a mod if it is in the wrong section.I've been tasked to see if my department should switch to a more recent version of backup exec (we're at 8 currently), and so far I'm not making much headway. So I have a few questions about backup exec;1) Is backup exec 11d just the demo version or is it the complete version? If it is just the demo, when is the full version slated for release? 2) I've already learned that 9 isn't worth switching to, how about 10?3) What are the major differences between 8 and 10? 8 and 11? Is it even worth switching?Thanks,Reg06
ceez Posted December 20, 2007 Posted December 20, 2007 I've only used ver 10 and 11d so i dont know about older version.11d is the full release, not a demo.on of the new features is that you can do backup to disks if you have somewhere to store your backups instead of on tape. we were using b2d for remote offices and is was working pretty good. We're now using repexec to replicate our remote offices to our corp office.bue is reliable and the agents usually dont fail. if they do fail you just restart the service on the remote server and you're good to go.
