Guest Kriss981 Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Wow haven't written on this forum for a long long time. Hey guys! :rotfl:So here's my problem,I've installed the router and all is working well, except I need to boost the signal so that I can get more coverage. It is installed in my dad's hotel, I positioned it outside the building pointing it at 12 guest rooms. Problem is as this is only a home equipment I can't get a stable enough signal in the far corners of the rooms. I want to know if there anyhow I can increase the signal? Hope all that makes sense. Thanks Guys, kriss
eyeball Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Hi,you will need a repeater that is compatible with this router. The best thing to do would be to email their tech support and ask which repeaters are compatible. When you have your answer you will then be able to purchase one and extend the coverage.Or simply relocate the router, if this is a viable solution cheers
tain Posted December 19, 2007 Posted December 19, 2007 I want to know if there anyhow I can increase the signal? Hope all that makes sense.Do you need the ADSL function? If not, you could also try getting one of the Linksys routers with upgradeable firmware. Many of the 3rd party projects allow you to set the signal strength. I like Thibor's, but I hear a lot about Tomato these days.Yet another option is to upgrade to a nice omni-directional antenna, possibly in conjuction with a signal booster or repeater. Here is some info on making/buying an omni.Wow haven't written on this forum for a long long time. Hey guys! :rotfl:Seriously?
