harryh31 Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 When I try to run the 1-click maintenance in tuneup utilities 2007...... I get the error message, in a box headed, "Tune up system optimizer"......CANNOT OPEN AVI.........Can someone please explain what this is, and how it can be overcome. My o/s is Windows XP Home edition.Have emailed support at TuneUp but still waiting for a reply to this query.Harryh31
Innocent Devil Posted December 16, 2007 Posted December 16, 2007 u may hav lost the codec config, the 1-click windows uses avi file for the animation of progress (i think so)di u nlited and removd codecs??try installing some codec packs
harryh31 Posted December 16, 2007 Author Posted December 16, 2007 Did as you suggested and downloaded two codec packs namely "XP codec pack 234" and "AVI codec pack plus 2.1 ".However, this still didn't work, so decided the error message may not be a codec problem at all ( as I've discovered .....error messages don't always signify the true problem).........have now reinstalled Tuneup Facilities 2007 and everything is back to normal. Have left the codec packs still installed on PC, they may be of some use eventually.? ? ? ?Many thanks for your assistance.Harryh31
