Bob D Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi there,I currently have Windows XP Media Center Edition but want to convert it to Windows XP Professional. Is this possible to do without spending much money? I need to do this in order for MIDI hardware to work with my laptop as for some reason Windows XP MCE does not recognise MIDI hardware devices. Many thanks,Bob D
nitroshift Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hello and welcome to THE forum Windows XP Media Center is basically XP Professional without domain support and media center components added. Have you tried your device in a machine running XP Pro and it was OK?
neo Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 If doesn't want to install Windows Media Center application then don't insert second disc of Windows XP Media Center Edition and press ESC or Cancel disc prompting dialog box....
