Adding DirectX & Removing Autoupdate [Renamed]

I just recently find out about all these unattended installations, a couple days ago actually. I used a custom version that was nice but to much for me. So I decided to check into making my own. Got nlite started reading & today made my first iso tested it everything went great. But I need to do a few things so here goes. Please remember I am a noob at this.

1. I want a complete unattened install after I choose which drive partition & format it. from then on I want to walk away come back & everything is done. It was this way until windows finished & I got the wizard at the end it asked if I wanted automatic updates turned on or off, It also had me create a user name. I fixed the user issue but how can I get it to disable auto update without asking?

2. I want to add my drivers to the installation, the problem for me is the motherboard drivers, (ethernet, gart, audio, etc) require directX 9 be installed before the drivers are or major issues will develop. I know this from experience. SO how can I add DirectX9 to the windows installation before the drivers are installed. Now again I am a complete noob at this so bare with me. I have XP sp2 with all hotfixes to date. Is DX 9 in this?

I have a few other things but I'll deal with these issues first before going into the other things.

12. Very often we see meaningless subjects in topic title. They give no clue of what the posts are all about. For example:

- Oh no!
- Help
- I'm mad
- Please help
- Question
- I need your help
- Hmmmm ....

This should be avoided. Users should enter something more specific in topic title so that it is easier for others to help.

A few good examples:

- Strange problem with DirectX9b redist
- RunOnceEx install problem (double installation)
- Change Internet Explorer's Icon back to default

Please go read the foum rules. ----> http://www.msfn.org/board/Forum-Rules-Upda...ead-t18408.html

XP with SP2 in it has DirectX 9.0c.

Here is another good section to read ----> http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/

Thanks for the help & sorry for the topic title. I renamed it.

@geek,

I tried the drivers there but they didn't install. It showed them extract during installation. But system properties shows them not installed.

I got everything fixed with the wizard asking about automatic updates, but now I have a new issue. During installation I get a error about system restore being turned off & windows media player won't be able to do something. But after the installation is complete System Restore is on & the service is running. Any ideas what is causing this?
