/LangPacks/ja-JP, /LangPacks/de-DE

I've disabled all language packs, but there are two that remain (outside of my native language, en-US): de-DE and ja-JP. These take up 500MB and I don't (think I) need them. In vLite's integration tab under "Language Pack" I see "Already integrated language packs". These languages are listed there.

Are these needed? Is there a way via vLite to remove these? Or can I delete the folders under /LangPacks (which each include an LP.CAB file).

That's not a standard Vista version so it's unexpected. There is still no uninstall language pack option, will be eventually, but you could try deleting those language pack folder. Especially if you choose the one you don't remove as your GUI language in the Unattended-Regional page.

Thanks for the quick reply. This is from my corporate IT build. I'll give that a try. I'm also thinking removing the languages from the Lang.ini is a good idea, assuming this doesn't cause a conflict with the Install.wim file. I'll report back with my findings.
