weEvil Posted December 1, 2007 Posted December 1, 2007 I notice that nLite has a TCP/IP patch option to change it from the 10 default to 100, 1000, etc..I read that its good for p2p applications. Does it work? What about things like download managers and such, that use multiple connections.
waruikoohii Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 You can if you want, but it won't affect much. The limit is not in the total number of connections, rather, the number of new connections per second.
Gee Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 It should help if you are using P2P applications. There is a seperate patch floating around. Event ID 4226

mara- Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 There is not much to say, but default Windows limit is too small. I recommend you to put it on 100. I had serious problems when using p2p applications. After a while my connection just stops working because windows reached top limit. Now when I increased to 100 I don't have single problem. But I would not recommend you to put more then 100, because you are exposing computer to high risk (spreading malware would be faster).Cheers
