Too many backgound IE processess

title and says da problem

the system was infected by sme viruses and smthin

i managed to remove most of them by avast's boot time scanning and spybot S&D

but still lage no of ie processes running in takmgr

if i keep takmgr open den no ie process comes up

but if i close it and open after sme time den it shows more ie processes again

bcoz of dis ,i think so, getting virtual memory low msg.

any soln ?

s/m is XP SP2 rtm

i updated ie to 7 ystrdy

I doubt that your "Internet Explorer" processes are really Internet Explorer processes. It sounds like these processes are named this way to make you believe that they're Internet Explorer processes. My suggestion is to kill all unneeded running processes, clear all temporary files and run another anti-virus scan. Also run an online scan using Bitdefender or something. If the problem still exists afterwards, download HijackThis and run it.
