damian666 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 anyone there that tried this?i would like some feedback to see if its good and maybe to make improvements?damian666
Kelsenellenelvian Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 OK coupla things....#1 I would like to be able to have it look for peid and upx in the same folder it is in so I can possibly add it to my uberpack. (It runs really fast after the files have been decompressed) #2 After that can I add it to my uber pack?
damian666 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 1: well, the new version does only extract the workfiles when they are not found.but if thats not good, then i could make it so that they are looked for in the dir upxgui is in.tell me whats best.2: Uberpack?? ooh, tell me...
Kelsenellenelvian Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 You've never heard of addons?DO you know of the RyanVM update pack for XP?Basically it is a addon for xp\2003 that adds a lot of software tricks and tweaks to your disk pre-installation.Look here --> http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=336Full list of things that are included.Main AdditionsClearType turned on by default Metapath v3.1.08Microsoft Calculator Plus v1.0 (Replaces calc.exe)Microsoft HighMAT CD Writing Wizard (KB831240)Microsoft Image Resizer PowerToy v7.0.224.0Microsoft Makecab v6.0.6001.16633 (Vista version)Microsoft OpenType\TrueType Font Properties Extension v2.30Microsoft Power Calculator PowerToy v1.0Microsoft SyncToy v1.4 <-- Requires .NET Framework! Or maybe you can make a non compiled versoin for my uberpack.Plus adding an updated upx or peid would be alot easier.
damian666 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 ofcourse i heard of addons, use them my self.b ut never heard of your Uberpack...will try that out man.yes, i can make a other version of it for you.you see, i want to have a sort of stand alone prog, that can be executed from anywhere...but if you like , i can make it a normal prog, like install in programfiles.or just a map with the proog and supportfiles?tell me and i will do it man. no problem.p.s. you asked me one time how to change wallpapers with a cmdline option remember?well, i have a cutdown version of my wallchanger, that works with the cmdline.interested?damian666
Kelsenellenelvian Posted October 15, 2007 Posted October 15, 2007 I would have all of the files in their own dir or place them in system32, and have a sendto option plus a start menu shortcut.P.S. DUH!!!
damian666 Posted October 15, 2007 Author Posted October 15, 2007 ok, will do that for you, just a folder with the files then.will pm you with the link to that wallchanger thingy.bye bye damian666
damian666 Posted October 17, 2007 Author Posted October 17, 2007 hi kels listen up man, it was not as easy as i thought.for some reason, upx wont work in a normal map???it is about the spaces...all works, but not upx...so i have found another way to speed it up.try it and let me know ok?its on my site, just click my sigdamian666
cyberloner Posted October 17, 2007 Posted October 17, 2007 nice utility... just wonder is it safety for me to compress all prepack program files with this?
damian666 Posted October 19, 2007 Author Posted October 19, 2007 well, to be honest, i dont know.thats more a question of the upx program itself.i would say test and tell here if you find soemthing. ok?damian666
Inferi0r Posted October 27, 2007 Posted October 27, 2007 That's well done damian.I'm not sure what compression your tool use, but I know that the you get the best compression in the normal way with this switch:upx --ultra-brute...and sometimes with this one:-m0=BCJ2 -m1=LZMA:d24:fb120:a2:lc7:mf=bt4 -m2=LZMA:d19:fb102:a2:lc0:lp2:mf=bt3 -m3=LZMA:d19:fb64:a2:lc0:lp2:mf=bt3 -mb0:1 -mb0s1:2 -mb0s2:3Referred to myself here.
damian666 Posted October 29, 2007 Author Posted October 29, 2007 I know that the upx program is best with the brute option, but it takes much time to complete man.thats why i use the -best switch instead. But when people want it, i can code it in...damian666@Inferi0rP.S dutch huh? hallo!!
Kelsenellenelvian Posted November 16, 2007 Posted November 16, 2007 You should add a version number to the interface somewhere. Also why is peid included I have never experienced it with upx...
