bonestonne Posted October 9, 2007 Posted October 9, 2007 ok, so where i work, i have to get music reviews and such, and today i was writing a script for a local event that i'll be broadcasting either friday or tuesday.so i've come across some firewall issue thats completely different from what it was last year, and i don't have ways around it like i used to.messege received when going to certain websites, are:Request denied by ***************** HTTP proxy. If the Web site is Educational materials or is ********************** business, please submit a work order.Reason: one or more categories denied helper='HTTPALL1' details='Arts & Entertainment'Method: GETHost: amazon.comPath: /does anyone know anything about how to get around this? i'd rather be able to do my work while at work, but i'm kinda bummed on this. if anyone can help that would be great, if not i'll have to track down whoever manages it...even on my laptop i get it, but whatever. last year it was possible to work around this, but the new firewall is completely different.
cluberti Posted October 10, 2007 Posted October 10, 2007 That's an error message passed by a WatchGuard HTTP proxy box - contact whomever installed it on your network to give you access to the site. It's a transparent proxy, which means you don't get around it unless the Watchguard device at the egress point allows you.
bonestonne Posted October 10, 2007 Author Posted October 10, 2007 alright, thanks for that cluberti...i'll have to figure out how i can contact that guy...he seems to never be around, but who knows.last year it was just a firewall, but now its a proxy. i'm hoping i can escape the place within a couple years before it starts getting really bad, but thats another story for another day.
