joypain Posted September 11, 2007 Posted September 11, 2007 Hi there,I used a nlite WinXP CD to install my new computer and everything works fine. But the person who made the CD disabled the startup and shutdown sound. I tried to turn it on at the config/sounds options but is doesn't works. If you test is at sounds options you do here the sound and all the others sound and music works fine. Can someone please tell me what to do besides a new install with a different WinXP CDThanks
mara- Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 (edited) Open Control Panel - Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices - Change the sound scheme. Under Sound scheme choose "Windows Default"Cheers Edited September 13, 2007 by mara-
joypain Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 Sorry already tried that. Some how it doesn't work. You can test the sound by pressing on the play button but when you restart the comp nothing. And I used the CD to install on two computers and both have the same problem.Help please
mara- Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 (edited) Try this. Download TweakUI fo XP. Install it. Open the TweakuUI tool, by clicking Start, All Programs, Power Toys for Windows XP, Tweak UI. With the TweakUI open, go to the "General" setting and then check the option: "Beep on errors". This should restore the startup and shutdown sounds.Cheers Edited September 13, 2007 by mara-
