Shiron
I am burning some files to a CD and want to burn ALL the info from Windows Explorer (such as size, type AND COMMENTS)Everything does burn but NOT the "Comments" column. Any ideas???ThanksRon
gosh
What files are you adding comments to? Meta data on office files should be stored in the file itself, however for other files that would be stored as an ntfs stream i believe. Since burned cd's use the cdfs file system it wouldn't have ntfs meta data. On the cd itself in windows explorer are you enabling the comment field? Depending on the file type, that probably is not burnable.-gosh
Shiron
Thanks for the quick response....Yes, I have the comments column selected on the CD. I have noticed however when I go to burn it states:"This file has other data connected to it which may be lost if you continue to burn, do you wish to continue"I always select yes and perhaps that "data" is the comment column???The type of files are several...exe,dll,jpg, doc, etc quite a variety.Ron
gosh
yes it sounds like that ntfs meta data is not being copied to the cd. This won't work in xp, although in might in vista since vista uses 'tags'.-gosh
