  1. I have a laptop connected wirelessly and a desktop running from a modem. Both are connected to a Brother printer. The laptop via wireless connection. The desktop hard wired via USB. Both print OK. Here's the problem. When printer is turned on and I print from it, somehow my desktop shuts down. I have searched and searched, but no so;ution as to what is causing this. I did however found a work around. I must turn printer on FIRST then the desktop. Doing this, both machines print with no problems. The laptop does not shut my desktop down when it prints. However when I turn on my desktop, and then printer , when I print wirelessly from laptok, it will shut down the desktop.....
  2. Hello everyone, I just noticed that I have a very large folder in my Windows directory named IE7. It is in blue and looks like it is necessary if I want to UNINSTALL IE 7. That being the case, I am wondering if it is safe to delete the folder? Thanks Ron B
  3. Here's my situation...I am on line ALWAYS with RoadRunner. However and for the past two weeks I have been getting (occaisionally) maybe tweice out of ten times the following. A little box stating "No connection to the Internet is currently available". And I have a choice to "Work off line" or "Try Again" When I select "Try Again" I immediately go on line. That is crazy because I am always connected thru cable and RoadRunner. I have (I hope) attached a file showing this. No_connection_box.doc Any help?? Thanks Ron

  6. Running Windows XP with all the required "stuff" including SP2. However I cannot print from MS Word, Notepad, or Word pad.....but I can print from the internet and my e-mail messages. Does anyone know why???? I have searched and found and deleted the "Normal.dot" file in Word, restarted it and still cannot print from Word. I have no idea where to go from here I thought I would be able to print using Notepad or Wordpad, but no go with either of those either. Help!!! Thanks Ron
  7. Thanks for the quick response.... Yes, I have the comments column selected on the CD. I have noticed however when I go to burn it states: "This file has other data connected to it which may be lost if you continue to burn, do you wish to continue" I always select yes and perhaps that "data" is the comment column??? The type of files are several...exe,dll,jpg, doc, etc quite a variety. Ron
  8. I am burning some files to a CD and want to burn ALL the info from Windows Explorer (such as size, type AND COMMENTS) Everything does burn but NOT the "Comments" column. Any ideas??? Thanks Ron
