ximage Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 (edited) Hi All,I created a mulitple DVD to deploy the Windows XP image to the PCs in our company. The DVD works with all IDE DVD-Roms, but failed to boot from a SATA DVD-rom. Do you have any drivers or something else to recognizing a SATA DVD rom normally under MS-dos?Thanks in advance! slipk487 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 check you bios. idk i never used a sata drive but maybe it shows up differently in the bios so it might be set to boot after the hard drive. just make sure all the dvd drives are above the hard drive and it should boot the dvd. hope you figure it out.

jcarle Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 SATA DVD booting is dependant on the BIOS of the SATA interface and the firmware of the drive. Either one of the two could be responsible.
ximage Posted September 11, 2007 Author Posted September 11, 2007 I still faild to find the SATA DVD-Rom via changing the bios settings under dos, I tried to use a sata cd/dvd driver called gcdrom.sys but got the error message "No cd-driver to use; GCDROM not loaded" every time. So I have to devoted to WINPE now.
