Nero 6 Ultra Edition

Hi All,

First off let me say that this is an awesome board for an awesome application! I have spent several weeks learning how to enter and install programs in WPI, and it kicks @ss!

My question is in 2 parts:

1) I want to install Nero 6 Ultra Edition and I've seen that the command line to install is Nero.msi with various switches. When I look at the Nero 6 CD, there is a setup.exe in the root of the CD, but no .msi files. I ran USSF on the setup.exe file and it responded with the message about being a C++ file and couldn't find any switches. I am pretty sure that this is the right file to run because the screen that pops up after you run the setup.exe is the same screen that the autorun.inf pops up after inserting the CD. Is this the correct file? I searched the entire CD for a Nero.msi file, with all the nested directories, to no avail.

2) There are about 6 .exe files that can be downloaded from the Ahead site that updates Nero 6 Ultra to 6.6 Ultra. These are setup.exe files, so is it safe to assume that I just need to run these setup.exe files after the Nero 6 Ultra installation to have Nero 6.6 Ultra?

I will let you in on a little secret:

Its called Ncab! It was made on this forum and is a silent install builder for Nero6 and also removes stuff.

Download the latest packages #1 & 2 and place them inna folder called ncab at c:\ then run ncab211.exe.

I am currently the host for it so here ya go: http://www.wpiw.net/downloads/NCAB-211.exe

After you run it a text popup will come up asking for you to replace sections like xxxxxx-xxxxxxx with your current serial and then you just follow the instructions after you save and close that.

Hi Kel,

I finally got a chance to try out the NCAB program that you told me about 2 weeks ago. I was having no luck silently installing Nero 6 Ultra with all of its updates. NCAB worked like a dream, and so easy... a caveman can do it.
