hi my friends

do u know about my question?

suppose that i am single Administrator of a system

if i forgot my password and i lose my password reset disk too, HOW CAN I ACCESS MY PASSWORD?

(excuse me if i can't speak english well...) :unsure:

Hmm, are you saying you have lost your password and reset disk? Or do you just want to know "for future reference"? There are ways to do this, but first I'm just curious, why?

There is no easy way to recover the password, unless it is less than 4 characters long. But there are numerous ways to reset or whack the password offline.

I assume he wants the password reset disk because it has a copy of his encryption key that will enable him to decrypt his files.

If it's just a password issue, you can just reset the registry and you'll log in with the old pw. The pw should be in the sam as a secret in the system hive.

Yeah, I meant there are ways to reset your password, but anything encrypted with EFS will be lost, as well as any stored IE passwords.

Sorry, does it mean that there's no way to recover the previously encrypted files & folders ?
