wmp11 wrong switch ?

Hi,

during my installation at T-13 when svcpack run this section :

[SetupHotfixesToRun]
HFSLIP.CMD
DNF11.exe
DNF20.exe
DNF30.exe
HFSLIP.CMD
wmp11-windowsxp-x86-FR-FR.exe /quiet /norestart

A dialog/error box appear saying switch for WMP11 are wrong and advise to type /? for more infomation, what i've donne and effectivly with my version of WMP11 (french localised) the switch seem to be : /Q

Is it due to te localised version ?

Or is there a trick I miss ?

The funny thing is that a the end of the installation WMP11 is installed and seems to work....

First of all, are you sure that the file name is correct: wmp11-windowsxp-x86-FR-FR.exe?

But to answer your question, I believe that you have placed the above mentioned file in the wrong folder. I believe that you have placed it in your HFSVCPACK folder, whereas you should have placed it in your HFSVCPACK_SW1 folder. Can you please check this? If you have placed the file in the wrong folder, move it to the correct folder, cook up another image and it should work.

For the name it's the name given by Windows Update dowloader (http://wud.jcarle.com/) and after verification also by MS (http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/0/E/50ED0224-A888-4AD4-808B-D63CB71B08E0/wmp11-windowsxp-x86-FR-FR.exe)

Strange ....

For the problem of switch you have wrong but you indiretly give me the answer :

my WMP11 was in HFSVCPACK_SW1 --> wrong switch

but also in HF

It explain why WMP11 was correctly installed....

The WMP11 package is a Type 2 hotfix.
