readd windows defender

hi,

i removed windows defender from the vista installation by accident, and now i would like to install it. after downloading it from the MS site, i tried installing it but got the massage "defender is installed with vista"

is it possible to reinstall defender now or would i have to reinstall windows with the original disc to get it?

maybe use extra updates on "windows update", i will look into this further and get back to you.

EDIT: Ive edited the windows defender to ignore that message and hopefully should install (tricked it to think its installing on XP ), give me some time to upload it

seems you used the installation package for 64 bit, but my system is 32 bit. or at least i got an error like "the installation is not supported on this system"...

sory i will do the same to 32bit, give me some time... it cos its says ur on " Vista Business x64"

hmm.. worked fine till the moment to start the service. it fails to the defender service, tried the manual way as well...

thanx, but i am not reinstalling windows just for that
