running hfslip under vista to slipstream w2k

Featured Replies

Hi,

have laptop with preinstalled Vista on it.

Want to use hfslip under it and to slipstream w2k to be used on another machine.

Fred Vorck say in his tutorial: "Be running Windows 2000 (any service pack level is fine)"

Is it possible without any dammages or problems with w2k installation cd or Vista?

Appreciate any help.

Thanks.

Oh, hey gluka. What's going on, man!

Windows XP and Vista are fine to run on. I suppose I should fix that on the site. Sorry about any confusion.

BTW, some virus checkers are now reporting my SFC.DLL as infected with the 'Banker' Trojan. There is no infection, just so you're aware if you see that message.

HFSLIP doesn't work on Vista because it thinks you are not running as administrator even when you are.

Aside of that, modifyPE.exe doesn't work on Vista but that file (utility) is needed in some situations.

Hey fdv and Tomcat76!

Thanks for answers.

I'll try myself and see.

If it doesn't work, have another machine with xp pro, and guess it'll work on it.

Thanks anyway.
