razormoon Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 (edited) [uPDATED 2/18/08]I've been using Vista 32 since it's release and just realized that my onboard Azalia CML9880 wan't fully functional.MIC, Line-In not working!I've been hitting the net and googleland for an answer. Many posts and modded drivers but to no avail. I'm just surprised that there aren't any posts about this here. Maybe everyone using azalia doesn't have a mic? Line-in? C-Media does not want to admit they don't have a clue as to how to build a driver for Vista. The irony is that their current xp driver works fine.Well, in case someone ever searches here for an answer:I'm running Vista 32 with MSI NEO2 PLATINUM 915P board.Download C-Media with Flexbass here:http://www.cmedia.com.tw/?q=en/driverChoose Windows XP as OSSave this file to somewhere safe (for future use)Expand to temp directory (c:\temp)Click Start menuRight-click Computer >> PropertiesOn the left hand side click Device ManagerExpand Sound, video and game controllersRight-click Microsoft High Definition Audio Device >> Update Driver Software...Click Browse my computer for driver softwareClick Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computerClick Have Disk...Click Browse...Head to the CMedia driver folder in your temp directory. Using the example above (C:\TEMP) it should be:C:\TEMP\UDAX009_AZA10(Logo09.59.73_Light)\Driver (or something to this nature)Double-click CMAZAL.INFClick OKYou should now have a listing of TWO drivers. Double-click the newest version!Update Driver Warning. Whatever.Click YesInstalling driver software... Woohoo!!If you get any warning message, just hit Install this Driver Anyway or Yes or whatever. When it's done, reboot your pc for pete's sake.Device Manager should now report Sound, video and game controllers >> C-Media High Definition Audio DeviceXear should now appear in the systray.NOTE: I'm using Logitech keyboard with Setpoint software and have been noticing some issues with volume control.Happy Computing! Mercury_22 Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 I have the same problem with Intel® High Definition Audio = Sigmatel (IDT) on Intel® Desktop Board DG965WH ! Do you have a solution (drivers) for this one?
razormoon Posted August 19, 2007 Author Posted August 19, 2007 Hell no.but try doing the above steps..download the latest driver, expand and follow the above. See what happens.
Mercury_22 Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Already done that Not working! The way i see it the problem it's in the drivers not the way we install (update )them!
razormoon Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) The way i see it the problem it's in the drivers not the way we install (update )them! In Azalia case it's the other way around. The install won't work in Vista so it must be bypassed with drivers added manually. Sorry 'bout your on board sound though...
