Question about MSN messenger & Hotmail

My msn messenger has been signing out and I believe someone is signing in on another computer (saved password). Now I could change my password, but I'd like to know if they're keeping the messenger open to snoop.

When I got signed out I immediately opened Hotmail and it said the messenger status was offline. My question is: would I be able to see their online status through Hotmail or does it sign them out when I log in through the website?
