chiners_68 Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Its me again...Right. i want sysprep to run minisetup & I want to be prompted for computer name & domain credentials for technicians to enter there logins to join the machine to the domain. So far ive got the machine prompting for computer name which is right. ive set the domain in the sysprep.xml with no credentials but it dosent prompt me for credentials & dosent make any attempt at joining my domain. All I get once i login as a local user is it asking me the Home,WORK, private bit i have already answered in my answer file.does anyone have the solution to me being prompted for domain credentials for the PC to join the domain during mini setup?ive done it previously with XP by just leaving those fields blank but it dosent seem to act the same with Vista.

tazmaniandevil Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I was informed on the Microsoft Windows Vista Deployment and Imaging forum that the only way to do this is to run a script in WinPE which stuffs the unattend file. WDS has no ADSI support. Pretty cruddy really considering what RIS could do.I have no idea how to launch setup successfully from within WinPE.
