windows xp sp2, didnt install IE, windows media player any f... thing! very small install, and removed stuff with xplite

i use mozilla firefox, i have VIDEO LAN VLC, MEDIA PLAYER CLASSIC

I cant play windows media AND I'VE TRIED ALL CODEC PACKS, I'VE TRIED WINDOWD MEDIA LIGHT, EVERY F... thing

how does it work? If i try to play a video in vlc i get no video... only pink\green stuff nothing f... works

Update your video drivers, install Windows Media Lite, try the Vista Codec Package (but uninstall all current codec packs first).

if it's a wmv file this might be normal. Microsoft constantly update codecs for this format, and it's a veritable pain in the *** to see these file if you don't use the official "windows media player" and let it update codecs automatically.

See if there are any driver updates.

I had the same issue before fixed it with a driver update...

its a setting in windows media player, tools > options > performance> advaned i think it was use video mixing renderer... so i think its to do with a renedering setting with the player you use
