Mike69 Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 hi,i would like some to create the following project:i build lots of computers to the end user, and i would like them to have a recovery partition (like HP on their notebooks)i know this is possible and probably asked many times before, but i would like to know the essyest way to do it.with or without the use of commercial software(im willing to buy it)i also would like some option during the boot of the machine so i could press f11 for example and start the recovery process. no need for many options.tks in advance
IcemanND Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 the latest version of the Symantec Ghost Solutions Suite v2 has a Recovery Kit which includes a boot loader that provides the Press F11 (or your desired key) option and a deploy only version of ghost to restore a ghost image to the drive. There may also be a way to use the WAIK, which has some kind of recovery application though it may be limited to recovering Vista, I have not yet had a chance to look into it further yet.All you need is a boot loader of some kind that can unhide and boot from a partition and then you os on that partition to do what you need.
