Hi! A little about this interesting and frustating problem- I have direct x9-from 2004!!! (so says dxdiag), however, when I try to install the latest I can get past the initail installer procedures- the when it starts actually downloading-it won't and says the install failed.

now here's the interesting part, I can download everything else I want and need from micosoft's site,just nothing that has to do with directx-including the sdk and slightly older versions. I have disabled the firewall, cleared cache, cookies etc. but stil no go :realmad: A web search turned in nothing really relevant either and I am a "power user" I have hit a wall on this, does anybody here know whats going on?

Oh, fresh install of windows too(mid-june)

Try this. Download, extract to an empty directory and run DXSETUP.EXE.
