Recycle bin disappears

When I empty my recycle bin the icon disappears. Any ideas how to fix this?

lol...yeah..thats a issue with Vista Recycle Bin..the 'empty' and 'delete' are spaced close together...if using Vista..right click the desktop..then click on 'personalize'..then at the top left under 'Task'..select 'change desktop icons' and re-check the box 'Recycle Bin'

Go here to change the "Delete" function to "Search" function:
