Wireless Laptop

Featured Replies

I just bought a new laptop with wireless. Where I live I have no cable and no Phone. how do I pick up a wireless signal to access the internet. Do I need to purchase a wireless router! I tried to pick up a signal but could'nt get one. I would appreciate some help with this problem.

If you have no cable and phone, how do you communicate? Satellite? If so, yes, you'll need a wireless router to hook up to your Satellite modem.

I just moved in and I do not have satallite. I'm writing this from work. So all I need is a wireless router to get wireless access!

Well, no. You need some kind of Internet access; satellite, DSL, Cable, or Fiber-Optic. You can't just get a wireless router and expect that the Internet will just work.

If there's someone in your area that's broadcasting a wireless signal, then MAYBE you might be able to pick it up, but that's illegal in some states (at least I think it is).
