network: can't

All the drive icons in 'My network places/ entire network" appear locked. When I left OR right click any of them, I get an error message "Unable to browse the network. Request not supported" AND, usually, a system crash and error report dialog box. Any ideas?

In "My Computer" got to the particular drive that you want to share on the network, right-click on it, select the sharing tab, select the "i undersatnd that its dangerious blah blah" link, they you can use the Network wiz , or just click the "i understand blah blah" link and set it to "just enable file sharing" either way will work

Youch! :ohno. sounds like your problem might be with a lunched OS, rather than a network issue. does the computer show any other dodgy behavior? also, what kind of drives are u trying to access? other XP computers? check to make sure everything in your network is open to the computer (e.i. no guest statuses set up, etc.). Other than that, i cant think of ne thing except a format.
