I-pod help please!

Okay so the "download a new version?" always pops up on ITunes when I get on so I just decided to click install. I

was doing it but near the begining I decided I didn't want to and pressed cancel. Then it started getting really slow and I

looked at my Ipod and it asked me what language like in the begining and now has no songs! My songs are still there on

my Itunes account but when I try downloading them onto my Ipod its not working......anyone know how to fix this and

get all of my songs back? If you do please let me know. Thank you!!
