banshee28
I originally created a nlite install with "Standard PC", then realized this might have been the problem and re-did the Nlite iso and changed that to ACPI Multiprocessor PC.Burned a new iso and rebuilt the PC and its still doing the same thing!I installed the AMD drivers and updates and Device Mgr still shows the pc as a standard pc. I tried to change that but there were no options for Multiprocessor when updating the driver! I also tried to manually change the dll's to the Multiprocessor ones and that failed on reboot as it said the hal.dll was modified (of course it was, that was the plan?).Any suggestions on getting this nlite build (1.4) Xp SP2 working with an AMD dual core cpu? Thanks[Main]Env = 1.4 beta - 2.0.50727.42.Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2Target = Windows XP Professional SP:2 - banshee28
**UPDATE** I think I got it working!! I did a from scratch re-install with a newly complied nlite, made sure the acpi multiprocessor option was there, plus used Ryan's latest updates with the dual core hot fix, and that seems to have worked. I can see both cores now in taskmgr. However with cpu-z I still cant choose a core since the option to choose a single core is grayed out, although it shows 2 cores. This might be perfectly normal, so I am still working on it.But for now, it seems to be working pretty sweeet...
bonestonne
leaving it at Automatic prevents that from happening altogether. i have a dual CPU computer and i've had that happen before..quite annoying because it doesn't utilize all my RAM either.
