October 24, 200322 yr Hi, I slipstreamed XP service pack 1 on to the Dell OEM CD and made it bootable. When I tried to install it on my computer, I received this message "vga.sys is corrupted"; At the same time non-DELL based slipstreamed CD works fine. Can some1 help me out, please? Thanks in advance.
October 24, 200322 yr I don't think Dell OEM CDs are meant to be slipstreamed... Corporate CDs work fine...
October 24, 200322 yr hey its nothing to do with dell CD!!!I had that vga.sys problem before because the exact sector was corrupted due to scracth on it and this wasn't a dell CD.why use the dell cd anyways just has $oem$ in it with stupid toolsanyways I've dell so I've their cd and slipstreamed it to sp1it works fine.TIP: if you recently got your dell you can just request for a new CD. it will come with sp1 !!
October 24, 200322 yr why use the dell cd anywaysSome people like to keep legal versions. For him the Dell CD is the only legal version he can use.
October 24, 200322 yr dude I'm also using legal!! I've 4pc's they've 4 different xp cd's !! if a file fails I get it from the other one!by that I meant make your own CD without the dell stuff which I think what's he's trying to do! lol
October 24, 200322 yr Author Thanks for all of your help, guys. I guess I have to request a new reinstallation CD from Dell.
