Shayla Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I'm running Windows 98, and I had my modem properly installed and running. However my PC suddenly didn't recognize the driver, so I uninstalled the modem, and attempted a reinstall. Now Win 98 has it under USB Serial Bus Contollers/ unknown device. When I try to manually install the driver for the modem, it says that "This file has no information regarding this device" (paraphrase). I'm using a USB to connect obviously. I already contacted my ISP, and we did everthing we could think of. I even formatted my HD and did a clean install of 98. Is there anything you would know that I don't? When I do try to add it as a Network Adapter and point it to the correct driver, rundll32 has an illegal operation,RUNDLL32 caused a general protection faultin module SETUPX.DLL at 0005:000052cb. Any ideas on this one?
nitroshift Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 My hunch is that the driver is OK, the modem itself might have died. Can you install it on a different pc just to make sure the modem is OK?
